pyAsset EDI Software

ChangeTech Resources developed the pyAsset EDI software to replace EDI*Asset. The functionality and user interface have been replicated where it makes sense, but extended it where possible.

The technology base used to run pyAsset is current. It is based on Python version 3 and the SQLite3 database. Python and SQLite3 can run on any recent version of Windows, Linux and MacOS. As a result it is possible to run pyAsset on any of the supported platforms. Any version of Windows since XP is supported, although we do recommend a more recent version of Windows. The user interface uses the Chrome web browser which interacts with a Python based web server to supply all of the functionality. All of the key functions for supporting automation: send EDI, receive EDI, import and export can be run from the command line or from the user interface.

One of the capabilities that made EDI*Asset different than most EDI software packages is that it was designed to make integration and automation easy. ChangeTech Resources developed instances of EDI*Asset that were fully integrated into the business process that ran for years with minimal support. When designing pyAsset we ensured that it also made integration and automation easy. All of the instances of pyAsset in production use are integrated to the business applications.
