EDI*Asset Support

HP Enterprises is no longer providing development or support for the EDI*Asset 5.4 and 6.0 software.

  • Development of EDI*Asset Software and Mapper Module was discontinued in 2010.
  • Development of EDI*Asset Maps and Standards was discontinued in 2013.
  • EDI*Asset Support services were discontinued December 31, 2016.

ChangeTech Resources will be providing ongoing operational support of EDI*Asset. The services offered will include:

  • Technical support by telephone and remote desktop connections Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.
  • Creating new mailbox profiles or revising existing profiles.
  • Creating new trading partner profiles or revising existing profiles.
  • Creating new import, export or print maps or revising existing maps.
  • Trading partner testing.
  • Integrating EDI*Asset with your business applications.

Please note that ChangeTech Resources is not able to provide new or updated EDI standards for loading into EDI*Asset or bug fixes for the EDI*Asset software.

EDI*Asset was supported to run on the Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. Microsoft support for Windows XP ended in 2014 and support for Windows Server 2003 ended in 2015. Most of the PCs used to run EDI*Asset ran Windows XP and are now quite old. The hardware is both slow and not reliable. As such there is a strong risk of the PC failing, with no easy way to recover.

Since 2016 ChangeTech Resources has recommended that clients using EDI*Asset convert the physical PC into a virtual machine using the VMWare conversion tool, install VMWare Workstation on a new PC and run the Windows XP as a virtual machine. Recently a client was able to get EDI*Asset running on a PC running a 32 bit version of Windows 7. We have been able to confirm that most of the key EDI*Asset functionality works in this environment, but have not been able to test it thoroughly. Microsoft support for Windows 7 ended in 2020.

ChangeTech Resources has developed a replacement for EDI*Asset called pyAsset. Please see the 'pyAsset EDI Software' page for details on this package.
